Born in 1966 in the Penny Lane area of Liverpool, I loved art from an early age. Aspiring to become a commercial artist in my teenage years I was side-tracked into taking up an apprenticeship at the Mayfair Hotel as a chef, alongside fellow apprentice, Gordon Ramsey. After cooking in London, Australia, and Italy I returned to my Lancashire roots to teach the next generation of talented chefs. Every dish I create, is gone in a matter of minutes. Painting allows my creativity to last a little longer.
My paintings are often inspired by my love of an active lifestyle – cycling, open water swimming, and snowboarding.
